I'm looking for a 25-06 for my nephew. I prefer Tikka with a wood stock, and would consider a Tikka in 243 with a wood stock. I might consider a synthetic stock or an Abolt/Xbolt in wood, but I'd probably look at buying a new Tikka unless the other were a great deal.

I'd be interested in one with a Zeiss Conquest or similar scope also, but I don't necessarily need to wait for that combo.

thanks
nate

How about a Steyr Pro Hunter 25-06. It is blued with synthetic stock. The safe bolt system is about the safest thing possible for a young (or experienced) hunter, and the gun is a tack driver with a fully adjustable trigger and length of pull can be adjusted. The twisted steal barrel looks pretty sharp as well. It has Leupold 2 piece bases.
I'd go $700 shipped on it.
Here's photos:

How about 100 new in bag Remington 25-06 cases. Also have a fair number of 257 bullets here.

Thank you for the replies -- AB, I will research that gun, as I'm not familiar.

LC, unfortunately, I have not yet gotten into hand loading, but thanks anyway.

The Steyrs are fantastic rifles with a bunch of neat features. I own several, and they are some of the best shooting factory rifles I've ever had the pleasure to own....I just don't need two of them in 25-06!...at least that is what I've convinced myself of here lately...and this one doesn't have a scope on it right now so it fills the bill of what your looking for. However, if you buy the rifle I'll send you a varix-iic 3-9x50 for another $200.

My stock Steyr .243 with the right load outshoots every one of the "custom" rifles I've owned; except for a true benchrest target rifle I built in .22-250.

They're quality. Give it a try
