Due to many requests, I have created a 44 Rem Mag SUBSONIC load @ 1040 fps with the 240 grain Hornady XTP. Ammo is loaded with NEW Magtech brass, CCI Large Pistol Primer, Hornady 240 grain XTP bullet to 1040 fps in 16.5" barrel. Designed for subsonic rifle loads. Ammo is loaded single stage and powder weighed out by hand to ensure correct powder charge for subsonic consistency.

$129 per 100 rounds. 100 rounds per order.

Please place orders HERE!

I'm not sure on the expansion. I have run the 240 XTP at 1760 fps in my Marlin lever gun, and get good expansion with nasty results on pigs. I'd have to shoot something to see. I made this ammo in conjunction with SRT, who makes the Ruger 44 mag suppressed rifles.

I can do 50 rounds, if you like. I'll add this to my website.

50 Round order:

V V V V V I answered up here so I didn't bump the thread again.

Would be interested in fewer than 100.
How well does the 240 XTP expand at 1000 fps?

Chad I have the SRT 44 with the Douglas bbl. Have had it for several years and have shot many, many animals especially pigs. I'm loading imr 4227 under a 240- and 300 g XTP and shots are 100 yds or less and bullet impact is the same at this distance. It smokes them. Bullets this big going slow do funny things. i have shot 300 lb boars thru shoulders and went straight thru then another time it will go in shoulder and come out the ham. Same braodside shot. I try and shoot most in the head for drt. If I don't feel like cleaning them then lungs or gut shot. if you read hornadys info about xtp and the reason I picked them is they reliably expand and a wide range of velocities. I will tell you from my experience is that I think 1040 is a bit too fast on cold days like to day there will probably be a sonic crack. When I first started out I was doing 1030-1050 fps load development about 70 degrees. norther came in was in low 40's took a shot and dang should have shot a 22 mag. Was loud. Now I do 950-max 1000fps and have not had that problem. Used to be my favorite pig killing machine til I got SRT's marlin camp 9 integral. With 30 rounds semi auto of 147g XTP's of course and eotech and NV they don't stand much of a chance!!!! Hope this helps whoever has questions or feel free to pm me. By the way Doug at SRT is a great guy and will shoot you straight. That's why i bought my first from him many years ago and have many since then. he was the only guy back then that didn't sound like a used car salesman blowing smoke up my rear trying to make a sale. He answered my questions and told me how it was, NOT hollywood quiet! This was before the internet and back when people thought it was illegal to have one. They have come along way since then, but from the start, Doug has been great.

Yes!! He and I have talked numerous times. I had several of his customers call me for ammo, and this is why I have this. Thank you for the info!
