First picture is from game camera last year. Second is from the processor down the road. Notice his muzzle, 2's, 3's, crab claws. Last year he had an "acorn" rack. Please convince me this is a different buck......as I was not the shooter.

Need a frontal view pic of each to see browtines. The side looks the same type of antler characteristics but the browtines appear to be different. Also the buck this year does not have the beading around the bases like the one last year. The points do not angle as far forward on this years buck's pic.

Are the acorns he had last year indicative of him keeping that trait or are they as a result of an injury last year?

Very similar, but hard to tell for sure.

Other than it's a 10 pt the only similarity I see is the crab claw on the left side which could be a trait shared by a 100 bucks in the area. Also the bottom buck from this year appears to be the same age as the pic from last year. My guess would be it is not the same buck.

No 'expert' is going to be able to tell you if those are same deer with two marginal pictures, and even with great pics if there isn't an identirying mark they'll still be guessing.

There are lots of 10 ptrs out there-are these from the same ranch/area? What leads you to believe they might be the same?

Marginal is putting it gently… I was thinking bad. The brow tines in the first pic are very difficult to see but they look very different to me. The rest does look similar from the pics.

I am with STX. Don't think it is the same buck

Found out it was shot roughly 3 miles as the crow flies from my place. He looks similar and realize it's difficult to tell from grainy pictures. Let's hope he's not the same buck and that "mine" is still out there somewhere.....hunkered down this morning, but moving this evening.

I vote no. Look how the buck's G3's on the trail cam point way forward while the one at the processor in your camera are almost straight up.

Hard to tell from angle, but the throat patches also appear to be in different locations.
