Which day gonna the best for this col front for shooting ducks in the face. North Kaufman county east of Dallas. Wed & Thurs cooler and sunny, Thurs. & fri. colder and cloudy; Saturday colder 36 and best chance of rain; Sunday coldest 28 and chance of rain.

So Ok which day and why you think what you think. No right or wrong answers just sharing s of ideas and beliefs.

NOTE I am not an old seasoned duck hunter so my idea has little value. I pick Saturday as I think it will be the most miserable weather and in the middel of the hard cold front.

I would say any day from wednesday to sunday.
Scout the day before if you can, but this week should be really good.

I think tomorrow...maybe because i gotta work until Saturday? Or maybe the early riders arw in.... pre front rebels

Its going be traffic birds all week. Im going bet you can hunt same hole public or private everyday and not wear it out. Ducks are going be moving

I would have guessed Wednesday with the strong N winds overnight... we'll see the results in a few hours

Wednesday was not the day at my place, too much blue sky. Thursday looks to be the coldest and I like Saturday for the best

Wednesday was terrible for me. Stayed at home today and I'll try to get out tomorrow.

Yesterday we saw more birds but none were working...migrators I guess. They sure didn't want any part of my spread.

This morning we hunted a spot that had barely anything on it yesterday or the day before, had probably 40 or so on it today with other groups buzzing in from the north.

Wednesday was terrible. That blue sky killed it. I did not even see any high flying migratory birds on Wednesday. If there is light rain on Saturday then that's the day to hunt. Sunny, blue sky days suck.
And just as an FYI, birds are never pushed down by a front. They are pulled down by a front. You can usually expect good hunting 1 to 2 days after the front blows through, if it is still cloudy outside.
Ducks don't have thumbs, so they cannot turn on the TV to see the weather forecast. Therefore, they cannot plan a trip down ahead of the front. They can only react to the colder weather and decide to migrate south behind the leading edge of the front.

Was a very strange hunt. We saw were mallards, snows, 2 Canadas, and one widgeon in a group of mallards.
No gadwalls, no tealz, nutin. Had to pull decoys to get ducks to come in. They would respond to a call but liked no calling better. Not what I'd expect for a early season N TX hunt, not complainin tho.

Today was perfect done by 655 with 2 greenheads and 4 wigeon
