After a LONG wait the barrel for my AR10 7MM-08 should be done this month, I already have a bullet, 162 Hornady SST, can not find the AMAX anywhere, and also the powder, H4895. Min load is 37Gr and Max is 39.5Gr. The barrel is 20", rifle length gas tube, and I will be shooting suppressed so I know pressures will be different, just seeing if anyone has any experience of where to start and what increments to work up in. Thanks.
HHUUMMMM, what to write, what to write, I got nothing.

I realize mine is a 6.5 Creedmoor ...BUT Based on my experience running suppressed on mine anything above starting loads groups open up so bad I gave up and put a Break and have amazing accuracy now with N150. I have shot it to 1000 yards and couldn't be happier.

I don't know that I would pick H4895 as the best powder for a 162 bullet, but it will work. Something in the Varget range to maybe H4350 would be better suited.
But you have the right load data. If you plan to shoot suppressed, test the loads suppressed. I would start around the middle area, somewhere around 37.5 or 38. Watch for pressure signs, ejector swipes and beat up brass. But my AR-10 in 308 will give you ejector swipes with a mild load, so some AR's you can not go by that. Just rely on the book data for min/max data.

Thanks guys
Chad-- The reason for the H4895 is I have two lbs I bought from a gun range when it was sparse to find anything, but I do have some varget left over that I can do test loads with and compare, if Varget wins out just gotta find some then. Thanks for the info guys.
