I had the same problem. Now I run 11 feeders and no problems in 2 years. It will cost you $25 or less. Take a cattle panel and hold it across two legs of your feeder just under the barrel. Then use bolt cutters to cut panel to match the shape of your feeder legs. Cut your panel long on both ends so you can use big pliers to bend the panel around the legs. I also put wire on to double secure it to the legs because I was really tired of fixing the feeder. Repeat all of this around all the legs. I also left the varmint cage on for the coons. You will have to cut a square out of the panel to open the varmint cage and access timer. It took about 45 minutes but it has lasted 2 years. Before, I was repairing 2 feedersa week.
