I have piece of land in Commanche Co with 2 ponds

I want to lease it out for day/weekend duck hunts, dove hunts next year.
There are turkeys on the place but I don't want to over commit

Are there any interests from typical joe hunter that doesn't want to invest in a full lease ?

I know the going rate for dove is $125- $150 /per gun per day
don't know about rates for duck day leases

looking for opinions/

Thats not the going rate...I have hunted for years in that area and priced alot of dove leases in commanche/hamilton..none that I contacted were that much per day..more like 50-75 tops.

Duck hunts go from $125-$175 and dove hunts are usually like stated above, $50-$75

thanks for the inputs guys, appreciated

went to land past weekend to check, both ponds are full of water but no ducks yet
some big buck tracks around both ponds & coastal grass field

there's a deep gulley/ravine about 75 yds wide and about 200 yds long thick
with post oaks where I jumped a big buck, guess that's their bedding area..
I put up a 600 lb feeder at the edge of pond and that ravine... will be back
Thanksgiving to see what's moving

lots of doe tracks, saw 3 does running out in the road at 10 am,
something was chasing them out of the woods

hog tracks all over the wallow area of pond

will run the disc and plant sunflowers for next year
I have a better idea of going prices ,,, will post up for next season

thanks

Sounds like a neat place with lots of a game. Wont be able to shoot ducks at the pond with the feeder at it if it's one of the ones you mentioned for duck hunting.

I think you are going to have a very hard time finding anyone to pay to come out there to duck hunt. Those are some very small ponds and are not what most duck hunters are looking for. I'm sure they would really fun to jump, but I can't see anyone paying to come out and set up to hunt, especially since you have such a small number of birds and we are already at the end of November. Also, $150 per person for ducks as the guy quoted above would generally include a guide. I agree that dove would need to be $50-$75. Plenty on places you can hunt dove over sunflower planted specifically for dove for $75 a day.
