Looking around for a hog hunt near DFW. Prices vary widely from $150 for unlimited hogs and $1/lb basically.
Never been hunting before and just want to shoot some hogs with a couple of friends. Amy particular guides or outfits have better success rates? Not looking to spend overnight and not be able to shoot something.
I keep hearing that hogs are over running the state but also hear that you may never see a hog during a hunt.

Free range hog hunting is unpredictable, even in very good areas. In terms of expectations, I would want recent game cam pictures, a reasonable idea of when the hogs usually show, and recent hog sign in the area. Beyond that, it's hunting ...

Depends on where you hunt, a true hog hunt can be very unpredictable and some have some small acreage with field fencing that keeps the hogs in general location, kinds like high fence hog hunts, it pretty much guarantees a shot at a feeder. It all depends on how much of a real hunt you want?

Not looking for a real hunt for our first time out. Just the excitement of shooting something.

Check out Box R Outfitters. Just a little west of Dallas and sounds like what you are looking for. Been there 3 times and have limited every time. You can feeder hunt and then put your tracking skills to work. Its a no frills hunt but the cabin is comfy, walk in cooler is cold and there are hogs.
