Getting awfully quiet here in the woods.

Nothing since the big buck. Quiet.

I even just broke out "The Can".

Seeing them almost makes it worth it. Was he cruising, with a doe, feeding, or just headed to bed?

Me either. I don't even know why I carry that thing around.

Buck looked like he was cruising as he was following the trail the earlier does took.

Any bedding or food source that you know of that way that might hold the doe?

Oh yeah, but when I grunted and snort wheezed at him, he turned back the way he came. I've had great luck being aggressive with the bucks here, but he wasn't having any of that.

Aggressive has worked for me in the past up there too. At my place, it was still a bit early but at dads the rut was farther along.

Thanks again guys. I think we're still a couple days early too. The mature bucks still seem to be overly cautious and the young bucks are running around like they own the joint. And there's a very large crop of one and two year old bucks.
