I got a pic of this cat the same day with a young guy holding it but it said Pearsal. My cousins buddy works the guy or something. So I sent him this pic and told him if he wasn't sure of location just say south Texas or Texas.

congrats, I guess...I used to think it would be cool to kill a cat; until I realized that there would be no more for my great grandchildren if extermination efforts continue. Lions and other predators have a place and an economic value to hunters and ranchers alike; if the money spent trapping these animals was reverted to reimbursing ranchers for losses, I think it would be better for all parties by increasing diversity which greatly benefits the habitat and in turn economic productivity of the land. We are still stuck in a medieval paradigm in regards to predators with little science to back up the stance. We damn sure have to many deer and hunters are not killing enough.

Well no one is going to reimburse us ranchers for our losses. So what are we to do? Should we keep letting the predators (Mountain Lions, Bobcats, Coyotes, etc...) kill off all of our animals till we have nothing left? What science would you like know...predator kills livestock, rancher looses money. I have already lost 2 calves and 3 Spanish goats due to this mountain lion. No telling how many more to come. Do the science and the math....

How far from the river are you? Back about 5 or 6 years ago, there was a horse killed in a development called Burnett Ranch Estates. The back part of it backs up to the river. a couple of days later, a very large cat was spotted in Wood Creek by Jacobs Well.
