I think i'm losing my marbles. I have borrowed a Benelli Super Black Eagle (the original, not the II). Need to put a plug in it to hunt some ducks but I can not figure out for the life of me how to install the plug. I've searched the internet and there is a ton of info for the SBEII but not much for the SBE.

I'm sure someone here knows how to put a plug in the SBE- any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks folks,
Eric

The plug installs directly underneath the magazine cap and extends down into the magazine tube. Plug looks more like a long gutter nail with wide flat head than a magazine plug.

Yup, or cut a dowel so you can only shove two, 3.5" shells in it.

That's what I was expecting, but I went on MidwayUSA and they had this. The description says that it is also for the SBE. Sounds like I need to get my money back and get the proper plug.

Just use a pencil. As long as you can only put 2 shells in the mag, you are good. Doesn't matter what the plug is made from.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Make sure you cant get three 2 3/4" shells in there. A plug that wont allow three 3 1/2" shells in the gun doesn't necessarily mean it is long enough to do the job on shorter shells.
