Its me again!!! I am going to go Lake..... haha JK
I am going to go to a public area tomorrow in South of Houston, most likely along the coast, and it is supposed to be 60 - 80% of showers (not storms).
Your opinion of duck activity int he rain?
Thanks all!

If your getting any of the weather we just got in Dallas, it may or may not be a good idea. I'm driving down right now from Dallas and it's rained pretty good the entire way. I did ponder the idea this am of going out myself. I didn't go. Then I heard shooting and wanted to kick myself for not going.

Pervis, we are getting hammered right now. But it is supposed to just turn into showers overnight and continue showers through out 1/2 the day tomorrow. Should make for good deer hunting in the afternoon into sunset. But not sure about the duck hunting in the AM..
Did you see ducks? what lake, gps coords? lol JK

Why in the world wouldn't you go? This is duck weather!! Birds fly lower & are more willing to land in your decoys instead of circling around 5x. And like stated, most other people will stay home

Cigarettes are like hamsters. Perfectly harmless til you put it in your mouth & light it on fire

Rain hunting can be great, especially public. If it's one of the triggers that keeps others away it's generally a good idea.
Other people stay home in the rain? Go People stay home when it's 30 and windy? Go It's too far for others to walk? Walk it They spend 30 minutes building a blind? Spend an hour Everyone hunts on Saturday? Hunt Thursday
Any advantage you can gain on public do it,most just require effort which most people are too lazy to put up.

Biggest problem with rain is usually getting the truck stuck somewhere. Throw a shovel in the back of your truck for the inevitability! If it POURS at legal a lot of times the ducks will hunker down, but usually when it lets up they start flying like crazy, they're hungry and sometimes dumber.

- Hotel boy They won't fly as well as they would on a day when it isn't raining I've spent the last 3 days all day b's deep in water. We saw a lot more birds yesterday and the day before than we did this morning which was clear and sunny. Birds moved continuously the last two days. Today, not so much. I'm assuming the sun had the same affect on the birds as it had on us, lazy and sleepy. Ducks LIVE in water, EAT in water, KRAP in water, and SCREW in water. Ducks don't give a [censored] if it's raining. Storms are a different matter.
