Hunted my place on Saturday which I thought would be great day and barely saw any deer, and I usually see anywhere from 10-20. Nothing really chasing and nothing coming to the feeder, I think the acorns have got them all messed up.
Hunted my buddies place on Sunday only about 20 miles apart, his place is mostly mesquite trees and I saw tons of deer. Saw 5 bucks chasing one doe.

I hope this rain sours all the acorns. Thats my only guess to whats going on...

I listened to acorns falling all morning yesterday, its acorns and an assortment of other forger foods where I hunt in east Texas. I dumped a feeder on October 13 to move it, that pile of corn is still there, kinda wish I had not driven the hogs off, at least they cleaned up the left over crap.

My hunting buddy set up a pile of corn, with peanuts and acorn rage, he had a photo of doe walk within a foot of it Saturday night and she had no interest.

During bow season in Hardin County, with all the acorns it sounded like rain drops coming down!!!

Acorn crop in East Texas is "good" this year. Of course that is bad to get deer to move to corn feeders or food plots. I bow hunt over food plots (wheat, oats, and peas) and usually mine are full of deer. But not now.

It is times like these when I understand why so many like to hunt in West and South Texas where the sound of a corn feeder going off brings deer in like cattle.

I also like to "hunt" sporting clays with my Benelli SuperSport!
