Had my first ever scope failure. This is the 2.6-15x44 HD with the ballistic turret.
Rifle wasn't grouping well and I moved the scope over to another rifle that was shooting one hole groups with a NF 2.5-10x42. Groups were about 2.5", I switched scopes out again and went back to stacking bullets.

That sucks, I can't stand broken gear! Keep us posted on how swarovski handles it. I love my Z5 with balkistic turret but always been curious about the CS at swarovski.

I have seen numerous Swarovski scopes go down with the turrets. This is the main reason I will not recommend a Swarovski scope for dialing. "But it has such good glass!!" is what I hear all the time. Good glass does you no good if it doesn't work.

I'd rather have something that doesn't break down in the first place. "Hey our Yugo is a P.O.S. but our customer service is outstanding."

This scope was had little shooting, I got it at the end of the season last year and ried sighting it in on my 280AI. It wasn't grouping well and I hadn't been running that rifle much and so I thought perhaps it was the gun. I kind of just put it away and then got my cans in so that rifle saw no love.
I shot it a time or two since then after a few good cleanings, checking mounts, action screws, crown, etc.. I moved it over to my 16" threaded 308 to hunt with and to test the scope.
I MUCH prefer a mil dial turret with a zero stop to any sort of BT or ballistic reticle.
I REALLY like the NF 2.5-10x42 and will be buying it.. Damned nice little scope, damned nice.

I have an AV and Z5 neither have failed, so I guess according to you they will!!! I have a fixed weaver that's 30 years old. Via your reasoning it's the pinnacle of scopes... I wear Ariat boots you wear Justin...there for you sux is a better anology

You must be on Swaro's payroll the way you get hurt feelings over someone talking bad about them. I wear Double H since they're U.S. Made and tough as, well boot leather.

No not on swaro payroll, vortex maybe, I just think it halrious that it's always only shoot what I shoot or how I shoot" with you everything else in incapable just like the Ziess HD5 thread. Where you clearly stated it was incapable of wind age adjustment or shooting long range, at least you crawfished finally. FYI I only wear Beck boots... Because they are made for me in TX by Texans using water buff vamps. And because I wear them..... You're double h are inferior and better come with great CS because they will fail.

Its not shoot what I shoot or how I shoot. If a guy wants to shoot 200 max, go for it. When a guy asks how to go farther I tell it like it is. I only shoot very far every week, I may know a thing or two about it. The Zeiss HD5 is not incapable, but there are better tools for the job at the same price point.
Daniel texted me this morning, thanked me for the help, and told me he has a Viper PST on the way and he will be bringing it out with him the day he goes through the class. Why do you think guys PM me and contact me via phone or text? It's to avoid the BS banter like this crap from guys that dont do the shooting but want to throw their two cents in anyway.

It's interesting that on this forum there can be some disagreement, but it most always stays civil. On one of the other forums I frequent, disagreements can get really ugly, even on relatively minor issues.
As for what Bobo brought up, back in my previous work life, when somebody bought something and spent a lot of money on it and had put a lot of thinking into it, they had obviously decided that it was the right thing to have. They had chosen that thing, therefore it was the correct thing and they would actively defend the purchase and ownership. We used to call that "talking your position". It was oil trading, and having a trade in place was effectively "a position". One of the toughest things about that line of work was when your position went sour. It was difficult to admit that we had been wrong and that it was time to exit the position. Well, gun and scope purchase and ownership are similar, in that you thought about it, you decided on it, you put your money down and you bought it. Therefore, it was the right decision and you (and I, and all of us) don't like somebody putting the knock on it. Human nature.

Nothing... We ran it against my Kahles K312 II and was pleasantly surprised. The Kahles glass was a tiny bit better but really splitting hairs and it had a bigger eyebox. It also costs twice as much, it isn't twice the scope, and I get the point of diminishing returns.

Bushnell has been really stepping up to the plate lately. I'm wanting to get the LRHS in MOA for my next optic purchase.

This is an ego filled chat forum, like all the others, whenever a topic comes up, it's the same thing, bash what you don't have, sing the praises of what you do have. So here ya go, I think SWFA, Vortex both suk, cause I don't own either. Nightforce and Swarovski are the BEST, Leupold are fine, Meopta are great, why? cause I own all of them. None have failed but when they do, I'll send them in and getem fixed.
