A family member has offered me an 1894 Winchester model 94 30-30 manufactured in 1905. He has asked me to make him an offer. How do I find out what the value of this rifle is? The wood is very nice, however, the bluing is light in places. No pits or rust. Where do I look to get more info?

Look up the serial number. If its a proof steel base model 200-350$ depending on condition. But if its factory engraved or a broad hoop carbine or a number of other special models it could be worth $6-10000

Before yall ask I get my guess from 15years as a cowboy action shooter and seeing them bought and sold at those prices besides owning three pre 1910 94s myself

If it was made in 1905 it should have a saddle ring on it unless it is a rifle, long barrel,.
A saddle ring carbine in good condition is worth between 700.00 and 1000.00.
If it is a rifle it is worth a little more. If it is a carbine but no saddle ring it has either been modified or it was shipped as an "eastern carbine" which was a special order gun since all carbines before 1935 came with a saddle ring. If it is a real eastern carbine it is worth about 20% more than a saddle ring.
This is if it is in as good of shape as you say.

If you are selling plain factory 94s made before 1964 for 350.00 I'll take all you got. If they are made before 1935 I'll give you 500.00 for them if original.

It's a round barrel "bone stock" no engraving rifle with the standard lever, no saddle ring.

Bad picture, but here it is. It's on it's way here from Colorado Springs.

So it is a 24" rifle? If so that's a cool gun and if you paid less than 750.00 for it you did good.

Depending on the condition of the wood and the rifling I would say $800-1100.
