After the hunt Saturday I picked up my hulls and noticed that almost all of them looked mangled. Instead of a nice round opening they looked like part of the crimp was tore away. Some looked like they had been stepped on. After that I remembered seeing something hitting the water after shooting and I found little pieces of plastic on the shore. These were rios royal blue 3" #4. As anyone had similar experience with that and could that be dangerous or messing up my shot. I'm not good at posting pics or I would show ya'll. I'm going to email Rio because no matter what something not right.

Actually that's pretty common if you are using ribbed hulls that have some sealant on the crimp. Anything from taking the end off to splitting a good portion of the hull along the skive.

I've never shot rios, but have seen it out of cheap Federals and Remingtons.

Thought for the day: Ducks were almost hunted to extinction long before camo was invented.

So those shells are better sealed than a lot?

I tried the Kent Fasteel 3".. they kept jamming in the barrel. So much that the extractor broke the brass lip on one and it got REAL stuck. I had to jam it out with a cleaning rod.

Rio made contact with me today. That seems like good customer service. I'm going to email pics and the box information and see what they say. It seems that others have had the same thing happened with other shells. So it may not be an issue unless you wanted to reload. Thanks for the input. It's nice to have a forum to ask others about problems we may have in common.
