The vx3 has similar glass with the major coatings; Extended Twighlight and Diamondcoat 2.
The big difference is that vx3 is 3x (3-9, 4-12 etc) and vx6 is 6x (2-12, 3-18 etc). 6x ix amazing on a lightweight hunting rifle.
Upon us all, upon us all, a little rain must fall

I run the VX-7, which is near exact of the VX-6. There is a noticeable glass quality difference from the other lower Luepy's. I love my VX-7, and would recommend it, even though I am not a big Leupold fan. I got it for the collapsible dialing turrets and parallax adjustments. It makes a great hunting scope.
