Anybody hunting out there this season. Heard crazy stories about hunters finding satanic stuff in the woods. Wondering if anyone has done any good or ran across any weird stuff this year. I'm hunting lake Whitney been slow this year. We are seeing a lot of small bucks. Should be good in a few years. Be safe out there and good luck.

I have hunted out there a bunch, but this time of year is too crowded for me and the primitive camping areas are more like public dumping areas. Weekends tend to envolve either a highschool kegger or drunken late night turtle shoot. Also some of the hog doggers don't care if it is deer season or not. Some of the guys in surrounding hunting clubs think the whole place is theirs and more than once one has yelled at me from their side of the fence that I was walking through his shooting lane - I am not one to cause a fuss and and respect others use of a public resource but if I had cell service in the bottoms those jerks would have had a chat with a ranger and/or warden.

All that said mid-week later in the season can be great for deer. Hogs are pretty nocturnal but when there is fruit or mast available there is a good chance they will show up with the sun or just before dark.

Thanks for the reply. Guess II'll just stay where I'm at. Good luck this year.
