Folks this happened to me last week while moving some hay. I was lucky enough to get to a hospital in time to get treatment. (6 vials of Crofab anti venom) I spent 2 days in the hospital and another 6 days with my arm elevated in the air. I still have swelling and bruising now on day 8. BECAREFUL OUT THERE AND WATCH FOR THESE SNAKES AND SPREAD THE WORD TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO BE AWARE AND PAY ATTENTION. MINE COULD OF BEEN A LOT WORSE.

Glad you are okay. Could have been something much worse than a copperhead or your hand

Hope you get better soon. Would it had helped if you had been armed?

Wow. Glad you are recovering. Was playing with a rattler last week and my buddies were freaking out because they were afraid I would get bit so far from a hospital. confused2

Did you reach under a bale to flip it or grabbing old bales off an old stack

They say rattle snakes are a lot worse. They say all snake bites usually pose a risk of loss of life or a limb. I have killed a lot of snakes this year but this one was sitting on top of a round bale on a trailer that had just been hauled 15 miles.

WOW! Sorry to hear, but glad you're not in worse shape. Thanks for letting us know what happened, we all need reminders of how easily that can happen. Get well soon!

Nearly stepped on this sucker a few weeks ago when I moved my ice chest at deer camp.
