I'm located in Nacogdoches but willing to travel a couple of hours to drop off at a good taxi. Anyone have any recommendations?
I've heard Richards is good. I've called a handful of times to check pricing and average turn around time but no one ever answers...

I can recommend Sportsmans' Memory Shop in Grapeland. They did a life-size bear for me, and turn-around was only 6 months. Clayton Williams is their biggest client.
Evelyn and Mike Billington in Andice are excellent too, but they're a long way from Nac.
I have personal experience on who NOT to use just outside of Nacodoches on the east side if you care to PM me.

Two of the best already mentioned. Lee Richards and SMS are among the best in the business. Lee is a true artist, but you basically have to drop your animal off, forget about it, and expect a wonderful surprise in about 3 years. He is that slow/busy. But what you get back is amazing.

They guys there are great and will show you all around the shop and talk taxidermy with you for as long as you can talk. I highly recommend them!

Check out B&B Taxidermy on the NW side of Houston. He also has a pick up location closer to Huntsville. He does excellent work and he is back logged but gets animals out when he tells you he will. Just don't expect 3-5 months. http://www.bbtaxidermy.com/

Lee gets ours. Generally drop off in Nov and get it back sometime the following hunting season or early Spring. He should have gotten 3 mule deer from our group this morning ahead of the opening weekend crowd.

Lee Richards. Best around. Yes it sometimes takes a while to get your mount back but it is well worth it. I have one shoulder mount he did for me about 18 years ago and it still looks like brand new. I have used him on 4 shoulder mounts and numerous euro's.

Know it won't be before Dec bc I haven't gotten the call to see if I have a pose preference.

All bets are off on other animals. Could be a 3yr deal on bobcats, turkeys, etc.

Try Shooter's Taxidermy in Gilmer. Shane is very good and will have your mount back to you in 5-6 months.

Gio's is very good, just outside of Nacogdoches.
Staying away from Godfrey Taxidermy would be a good idea. PM for details if interested.
