I've taken mine to 800 yards with the 125's. But that's just me plinking and goofing around with it.
Realistically, I'd say about 250-300. BUT, that's with supersonic ammo, and not subs. The blk out is not a very fast round, so it drops a lot. If you can dial elevation or accurately hold for elevation, this will help increase the distance.
During the hunting rifle challenge shooting match last year, I used my Rem Model 7 in 300 Blk Out with the 125 grain loads for several of the stages. I can make hits out to 300 yards with a standard duplex reticle with it holding high. I was sighted in at 100 with it, and easily hold for 200 and 300. After that, I'd prefer to dial.

I feel like someone posted hitting steel at 1k yards Ryan's Range Report posted a video of him hitting steel at 1K with it. Also there is a video of Travis Haley banging steel at 700 yards with a Aimpoint T1 RDS. Crazy LOL.

Here's a drop/wind chart for the 125 BT at 2300 fps from my bolt gun. If you look at your impact speeds at 300 yards, you are only going 1615 fps. That's slow enough to not allow the bullet to fully open up. You will most likely get a deformed tip with good penetration, with half the energy you had from the muzzle. With this bullet, I'd want to keep the speeds up above 2000 fps (maybe 1900 fps) for reliable expansion. That makes it 100-150 yards, which is within most of my shot distances.
Range Velocity Energy Elev Wind (yards) (ft/sec) (ft-lbs) (inches) (inches) 0 2300 1468.2 --- --- 25 2237.9 1390 -0.64 0.08 50 2176.9 1315.2 0.04 0.33 75 2116.8 1243.7 0.26 0.74 100 2058.1 1175.6 0 1.33 125 2000.1 1110.3 -0.78 2.1 150 1942.8 1047.6 -2.1 3.06 175 1886.3 987.6 -4 4.22 200 1830.5 930 -6.51 5.59 225 1775.5 875 -9.66 7.17 250 1721.3 822.3 -13.51 8.99 275 1667.8 772 -18.09 11.04 300 1615 723.9 -23.45 13.35 325 1563.1 678.1 -29.65 15.92 350 1512 634.5 -36.73 18.77 375 1461.7 593 -44.76 21.92 400 1412.2 553.5 -53.82 25.37 425 1363.6 516.1 -63.96 29.15 450 1315.9 480.6 -75.27 33.27 475 1269.1 447 -87.84 37.75 500 1223.1 415.2 -101.76 42.61 525 1178.2 385.3 -117.13 47.87 550 1135 357.5 -134.07 53.56 575 1100.1 335.9 -152.7 59.65 600 1072 319 -173.12 66.08 625 1049.1 305.4 -195.44 72.8 650 1030.2 294.6 -219.73 79.76 675 1014.6 285.7 -246.08 86.95 700 1001.4 278.3 -274.53 94.31 725 988.5 271.2 -305.15 101.85 750 976.1 264.4 -338 109.56 775 964 257.9 -373.14 117.44 800 952.2 251.7 -410.61 125.49

Ive shot deer and pigs with reduced loads out of a 270, impact velocities around 2000 feet per second with 130 grain soft points. On game performance is less than desirable you will get little expansion and a long lean blood trail. I would try to keep shots short.

I am getting (hopefully today) a 16" 300 blackout youth (Ruger American) for my son. I have some of the 110g Barnes Vortex ammo, I sent Thad Stevens who is the head engineer there an email asking for minimum impact velocity.
For the kid, 200 yards is about max for him and I suspect 250, maybe 300 is max for reliable expansion.
I know the 95 TTSX for the 6.8 was 1600 FPS and that meant at 2850 (16" handload data) that meant 400 yards in theory. I say 300 to be safe.

The 3, 125 grain bullets I load- 125 Nosler BT, 125 Hornady SST, and 125 Sierra SP Pro-Hunter, will all have mushroom shaped expansion with good penetration out of a 16" barrel. I have seen multiple pictures from customers shooting pigs and deer with these rounds, getting pass throughs with nice exit wounds, or recovering the bullet from the off side shoulder under the skin. It mimics the same results I have gotten. Some have been large pigs.
Yes, the blk out is not the fastest round, and bullet choice is important to get good results.

I chrono'd some 130 Rem. hog hammers and got 2120 average over 6 rounds.
I'm shooting a 17.5" 8 twist Bartline barreled bolt rifle.
groups were 1" on three different 5 round samples

I went hunting with my SBR AR-15 300blk with an 8" barrel and AAC SDN6 suppressor. I was hunting with the Barnes Vortex 110g black tips. Shot a 3.5 year old cull buck at 100 yards. I was rushing the shot because he was about to walk into the bushes and wasn't stopping even with me making noises to get him to stop. Right before he got to the tree line, he stopped and looked toward me. Front leg was back, but I took the shot. He jumped, kicked, and ran for the trees. Not a great blood trail so we left him for a couple hours and came back with flash lights. Ended up hitting a little higher than I would normally aim. Bullet hit the shoulder and turned toward the back a little and went out the other side. Nice size exit wound, and hit both lungs, but it was a very weak blood trail through the bushes. He managed to run about 60 yards or so before piling up, but that was the hardest blood trailing I have done in a long long time. It was maybe 1 drop every 15-20 feet through the trees and bushes. High shot meant all the blood was staying in the body cavity.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.
