This guy came in Saturday morning, but stayed quartering to me and he left with no shot. I thought I had missed my chance, but at last light Saturday, he came back and almost exactly re-traced his steps from the morning hunt. But this time he gave me a great broadside shot and the Grim Reaper Whitetail Special made for a short tracking job. He grossed 133" and after watching him for 2 years on my 200 acre lease, I decided to take him. Thanks for everyone's feedback and guesses on this deer over the last few months. I can't wait to do it again next year!

This was actually the youngest (4 1/2) of 3 shooters that I watched all year. The one I passed earlier this year is 6 1/2+ but tends to rut off this property and only visits occasionally. The other I haven't seen hard horned this year. I just couldn't pass this deer with rifle season around the corner (neighbors). I dropped him off at the taxidermist today, and the wall pedestal will match the 137" that I took last year nicely!

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.
