Just got home form a fantastic trip to Kosse Texas where we hunted with Double K Outfitters, Hunting Out of Bounds and owner and friend Kelly Bounds. We had the time of our lives. Our final tally was 16 animals! I took an awesome chocolate fallow quartering slightly away at 165yds. Buster Best and I watched as he crested the hill at around 700yds. He was slowly making his way and we sat quietly as he made it to 150yds we watched him through binos and my rifle scope. I knew he was good, just trying to see all the details of his rack. He spun and started to head the other direction and it was time to make a choice. As he walked straight away he turned to his left and the thick brush. I whispered to Buster that we need to get a better look at him. Settling right on the front shoulder a sent 189gn from my 300wsm. He never made a step As we walked up, I knew I had made the right decision. over the next several days we took hogs from 10 to 170lbs. Eijiro Thirkill took a beautiful Corsican ram. Later that same set a 20 inch blackbuck came out in front of him at just under 1000yds. as it was quite quickly working its way straight to his blind at somewhere between 150-200yards he made a shot as the BB came straight to him a 6" target and a spectacular shot! Caleb Catron opted to do a little "Brush Hog" shooting and as you see he was able to make them pay! Tyler Phillips was all big hogs all the time! with his big tusker boar going 170lbs. This is a fantastic trip and if you want to go look for a big trophy or just spend time away and get some bacon give Kelly a call

we seen a ton of fallow. There were a bunch of smaller young bucks, but we seen several that were for sure shooters. As a matter of fact, I had my cross hairs rested on a giant spotted fallow. I was so close to shooting, he was super wide and much taller then mine. He had the more traditional palms and I would be truly proud to have taken him. The only thing that "saved him" was I was really hoping to get a shot at an aoudad. Plus everyone but me seen a white fallow, that even the guys that showed up just to hog hunt said, "thought about shooting that big bastard". It was a great hunt and Kelly goes out of his way to make sure you have a fantastic trip and get a chance at the animal you are hoping for. The brush is thick and it is not a "gimme" by any stretch. That said worth the trip! I will be back

Congrats on a very unique chocolate fallow....his antlers almost look like flames, should be an awesome mount.....I really enjoyed eating the one I shot also...it made great steaks and ground meat.

his rams were $500 across the board. He had several other very nice rams including a beautiful Texas Dall, that I came VERY close to shooting.

I really think Double K Outfitters is one of the true gems in Texas hunting ranches. This guy was taken this weekend. I love the big chocolate that I was fortunate enough to take (and would take him again) but this guy is amazing too. I am sure there are other great ranches in Texas that have been trying hard to keep their prices competitive, but from what I have seen on here and other web sites. either of these guys for $1500 is hard (if not impossible) to beat. I find myself at that odd crossroad, where I would like to keep this gem for myself, but I want Kelly and Double K to be successful so I can continue to enjoy his services. If you are looking for a wonderful trip and a chance at some AWESOME trophy animals without breaking your wallet, check him out!
