There are some giant bucks in Collin County. The first time I saw a deer in Collin county was 1999, west of Anna. So there have been deer die from old age in that county. North of McKinney still holding lots of browse and cultivation it will produce some record book deer, I predict.

it already has, you just wont ever see them in the book.

I grew up in that area, Collin Hunt Co line. There were ZERO deer around there prior to 1990. It is nice to see they have taken hold! Wish my family still had land there.... bang

Your going to find out that the ones who hunt in Collin County are pretty tight lipped. A few hogs here and there mixed in with some good genetics with age on the bucks. For gods sake please don't shoot the 3 and 4 year old bucks. We hunt west of 75 as well. your welcome to pm me if you would like to share some info.

I moved to Collin county from Oak Cliff in '77. There were no deer around then. Amazing that now deer are everywhere suitable habitat occurs. I never thought I'd see the day when Dallas and Collin counties would have a deer season.

It's kinda amazing...I have heard that the Anna/Blue Ridge area was stocked several times in the late 80's by TPW and another group...supposed the genetics were south Texas...that would explain some of the big bucks...

Monster Raxx, great pictures, thanks for sharing...I don't think deer were ever stocked in Collin county. I know they stocked turkey near 'Parkhill prairie' years ago but not deer.

Have any of you Collin County hunters seen antlers start to drop yet? Please let us know if you do. I need to put camera back out but haven't gotten the chance. I'll report my findings and hopefully others will do the same.
