Long story short, I have THOUSANDS of 40 S&W brass cases. I'm thinking about making a large run of 40 cal ammo. The more I load, the cheaper it gets. This would be with mixed head stamp 40 S&W brass (from a local law enforcement range, mainly Speer and Win cases), Alliant pistol powder, CCI #500 pistol primers. The components would be top notch components, not the cheap foreign stuff. If I put together a group buy on 40 S&W ammo, what bullet would be the best bullet for this ammo run? Or multiple options? How is the pricing point? Here are a few options and in-the-ballpark pricing. Let me know what you think on the pricing, and what other options you might like to see. You can pre-order this ammo HERE180 grain Speer UHP (Gold Dot)- $37 per 100
I will load this bullet below as my initial run. I will make 5700 rounds with this bullet. Please place order on-line for shipment. (PM me for local pick-up)
Ammo should be produced around Sept 22nd, and shipped as soon as they are made.
160 grain Copper plated- ~$31 per 100
165 grain FMJ- ~$34 per 100
180 grain FMJ- ~34 per 100
180 grain Speer UHP (Gold Dot)- $37 per 100
155 or 180 grain Hornady XTP- ~$44 per 100 rounds
The copper plated bullets have issues stabilizing out of the polygonal rifling. So if your pistol has this rifling, the copper plated bullets are no bueno (like a Glock). Let me know what you think. Thanks!
