Mine arrived today and couldn't be happier.
Ergos are great and everything fits me perfectly. Lighter than she looks and the polymer is more rigid than appears. Threw on a AAC Blackout flashhider as well as my MD06L and Bushnell 1-4x24 scope. Not sure what I want to go with yet.
A few things about the ARX-100.
-You can easily swap which side you want the bolt carrier handle on and which side the rifle ejects the empty cartridge, all without a single tool and both can be done in less than 10 seconds.
-Stock is collapsible and folds. Can be shot while folded.
-The trigger is surprisingly crisp, but a bit on the heavy side.
-The ARX looks heavier than it is. At 6.8 lbs according to Beretta, it's not that light, but the large sides of the receiver makes it look heavy. It probably would be if it wasn't for all the polymer.
-The gas regulator is two position, Standard (normal ammo) and Non-standard (under power ammo, or dirty gun)
-The lockup of the stock to the receiver is tight with no wobble, but there a little fore/aft play in the 4 position adjustable stock
-The barrel is 16", 1-7 twist, and chrome lined.
-The flip-up sights use a front AR-type post adjustable for windage and elevation, while the rear is a diopter disk with positions for 100, 200, 300, 400, and 600 meters.
-Gen 3 Pmags won't work in the gun. The reason is that for the Gen3, Magpul added an overinsertion tab to the spine on the rear of the mag. The stop hits the front of the triggerguard before it the mag goes in deep enough to lock. The rear of the magwell has a recessed channel that is sized for the raised spine on the back of a standard AR mag, so it doesn't like any mag that has a different profile at the rear. I tried to insert the HK polymer mag and it went in, but it's tight and won't drop free. The issue is that the top rib on the HK poly mag wraps around the back and spans the gap between the spine and the mag sides and the rib rubs against the magwell rear. So far, metal USGI pattern mags, 30 rd Magpul Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pmags and Emags, and Lancer AWMs seem to fit fine. However I tried a 20 rd Gen 2 Pmag, and it was very tight, requiring a lot of force to pull the mag out of the well.
-The bottom rail is not a full length picatinny rail. Only the front part (3 slots) is picatinny standard. The rear 2/3 of the rail that is under the removable lower handguard cover is a proprietary Beretta rail that's made mainly for their GLX-160 grenade launcher. Beretta will have a full length picatinny lower rail that attaches to their rail mount, but I don't know if it's out yet. It strange that they didn't include this as the Umarex .22LR ARX-160 has the full length lower picatinny rail.
-In the box, you get the gun, a padded case sized for the gun, one 30 round steel mag, sling, and a tool for front sight adjustment in the ziplock bag with the manual.
-No QD sling points. The sling loops are designed for a sling strap to be threaded through, like on a standard AR. The sling loop at the front of the gas block can be rotated to either side. Hopefully Beretta or someone else makes an adapter that can be put over the sling loops for QD mounts.
-The grip has a removable bottom plug for storage. Like on the G36, the grip is molded as part of the lower and can't be changed.
-The gas system uses a fixed piston with the surrounding cylinder moving back to push the bolt carrier. The gas system doesn't seem to be designed to be disassembled, so there doesn't seem to be a way to clean the piston head or inside of the cylinder. Be interesting to see how that works out in the long run.
Here are a few pics.
