I have some spots on my hunting lease that have to be accessed by foot. A trail bike would make the trek easily but an ATV can not.
I remember the old Honda Trail 90's and Kawasaki Trail Boss' from the 70's. They went where you pointed them, hauled your gear, and were QUIET!
The old ones are still available, but I'm afraid of a limited or costly part supply.
Is there a trail bike made in recent years that would do the job? I'm not interested in a screaming loud dirt bike. I got that out of my system years ago.
Any suggestions?

It might get you there but if you kill something, getting it out will be the next hurdle.

Tractor Supply on beltline & 80 in mesquite has a cool looking rig like you are talking about for $699. If you wait till Christmas time you can catch them on sale for $599. It's like a fat motorcycle with ATV tires.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

That looks cool. But I exceed the weight capacity before I put on any clothes.
The access is more to check game cameras. The younger guys can drag any game out on foot or I could pull a "sled" behind whatever I get.
Any well geared bike would do the job. I could add a rack on back. I just don't want the noise that usually goes with them.
Still looking.

Nope, not the one they have at the mesquite store. I might be in there tomorrow, I'll take a pic & show you.

Yamaha TW200 is what you need. Yamaha has made them since 1987 and they have changed almost nothing since then.

That may be the same one, sure woulda thought it had more of a weight capacity. check out the Rokon they have some real nice ones, two wheel drive too. I bet they are pricey though.

It might get you there but if you kill something, getting it out will be the next hurdle. He needs one of those trike scooters!

Why not just find an old 80cc 4wheeler.. they arnt going to be much bigger than that Baja.. and if you get in a bind you can just drag it around.. my brother use to have a Suzuki 80cc as his first 4wheeler and I drove that sucker all over the place.. could even have the option of towing a small trailer

You can probably find an older Honda XR 200 or 250 reasonable. Light, quiet and bullet proof dang near. I would rather have a 20 year old XR than a brand new TSCO mini bike http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/mcy/4443228662.html

That Yamaha TW200 is nice, but I wouldn't pass up on of the old Honda 110 Trail bikes if you can find one.
I had one that my neighbor, a Honda dealer, modified for me. He installed larger chain sprockets which he said effectively dropped the gearing range down a bit, giving more torque at the expense of top end speed. I wasn't interested in top end anyway since I wanted it for use just on the lease. It was quiet, miserly on gas, and compact. I was able to drag out several deer using it, including one 200 pounder down Mississippi way. I didn't have a sled, but that would have made the drag a lot easier, I'm sure. I just tied the rack to the rear cargo rack on the Honda and pulled away. Wasn't too good for the hide, but did just fine otherwise.
