Good thread, Fireman!

The SS 5-20X50 is a first-class scope and a bargain for what you get compared to other tactical scopes on the market!

Very cool pics. Thank you for recommending that Fireman, I love my Vortex Viper PST FFP Mil/Mil.

My Manners stock FINALLY came in, I was doing load development today. I will be out to take your class soon!

Waiting for a stock sucks. My next stock will likely be one I find in stock somewhere and have the channel fitted to the barrel contour I choose.

If I was right handed, I'd do that every time.

You could always switch to shooting on the correct side of the rifle.

NEVER!

Only if I lose my left eye.

But I'm just as capable right handed as I am left handed. I'm not as quick on the target, though.

A little OT but how does the SS glass compare to the 3-21 bushnell your testing? I'm about to be in the market and these two are on my possible list.

As of right now I gotta say the Bushy glass is a bit better. The fine reticle on the Bushy from zero to .5 Mil is so far one of my favorite features within the scope. The turrets feel very nice, and I really like how they lock down, most particularly the windage knob I rarely move anyway. The scope is short, but definately heavy if that matters to you.

Weight is not that big of an issue. I want excellent mechanics and glass. Ergonomics I will give or take to get the mechanics and glass.

Well then I highly doubt you'll be disappointed in the Bushy, as long it's in budget.

Budget should be decent. I've set a max at 3k but less is better as always.

Correct me if I am wrong please.
First focal plane means the reticle is in front of the erector assemble.
What brand makes this style of scope.

I wonder how it compares to the Bushnell 3.5-21x50 Elite Tactical.

I have the Bushnell on loan from them you speak of.

The Bushnell has slightly better glass. I'm liking the locking turrets, especially the locking windage since I rarely dial wind. The center of the reticle, zero to .5 Mil is very fine, and I like that very much. The Bushnell is about 1 1/2" shorter but still heavy. I'll write a full report in a couple months after getting more time behind it. I'm going to go on my annual prairie dog trip, and shoot some matches with the Bushnell, so I'll get to put it through its' paces.

Even if I keep the Bushnell I will also keep the SS. The SS is such a good scope I will always have a place for it.
