I got my cattle brand designed and made of stainless steel. Going to be registering it and will start branding my cows this spring. Have been hearing more about cattle being stolen. Not sure yet if Ill freeze brand or hot iron brand, I can do either with the stainless steel.

Looks really good. Good for decorative, rustic wood decorations too. I helped my uncle and cousin pen alot of cattle around here and we started branding their heifers with an electric branding iron. We were brandin alot and it was just as easy to carry a small generator than to bring a propane bottle and pear burner and/or get fires going. Also alot quicker, heats almost instantly and on to next one. Not sure how many head you are branding, just a thought.

That is a neat brand, post some pictures after you use it. One thing I learned from my grandfather was that if you do go the hot brand route, remember to NOT put the Ivermectin on first...

Neat brand but I'd hate to be burning animals with it. Way too much iron for one spot brand.

we started with a hot brand red Brangus but when we went to Brangus we went to freeze branding it takes a bit more equipment you either dry ice and alcohol or liquid nitrogen we found the nitrogen works allot better but you need a semen tank to transport it

I've always used an electric iron too, we have power at the pens. That is a mighty big chunk of steel...

The brand is 6" tall. It has the spaces at all joint so there wont be any overheating issues. I thought about going the electric brand route but wanted a more traditional brand (even though I went stainless). I don't have a large herd, just 5 right now which will be 7 in about two weeks when calves drop with an 8th dropping in a few months. Ill be running them through the squeeze shoot when I brand. There is an AI facility about 15 miles from me if I decide to freeze brand, I can get liquid nitrogen from them in a tank. I tried to convince my wife to let me freeze brand our AKC mastiffs but she shot that idea down quick.

I use a calf table and immobilize them. Getting halfway through the brand and having them kick or drop and literally smearing the brand all over their side is no fun. Ask me how I know (and when I got my calf table)!

Um yes....I have a couple of heifers that I forgot to pin the top on the squeeze chute that now have a bill board for a brand. Kind of looks like the train cars when they go by. Not good.

FYI- just in case you don't know brand before you drench with dewormer. Not the other way around. Pour on dewormer is highly flammable
Looks good!

Cool brand, but I'd be worried that little "N" in the middle is going to be blob. Be careful not to hold it on too long, it'll keep it from spreading as much.
If ducks had horns I'd probably be a duck hunter. I am a horrible deer hunter. Probably the worst. Ever.

Way too big in my opinion. Hope you don't have dwarf cattle because you might not have enough room for the brand

Dwarf cattle? Ive got real cows. My mature cows will get the 6" brand and calves will get a 4" brand. A 6" brand is nowhere to big for a 1200-1500 lbs cow.
