Cool. Does anyone know if they will actually make it in a 9?

I was doing some research on it last week and found a back and forth with the Glock company and they said they would be releasing a 9/40 single stack in 2014. I'll try and find it.

I'll get the 9 when it comes out, but my wife is gonna have one of the 380s and I'll keep one for my pocket.

Glock: Ha, you’re funny. No, like I said we had to alter the design quite a bit to make it reliable. Luckily we’ve also stumbled upon some major improvements that we think shooters are going to absolutely love. I can’t give it all away, but believe it or not the slimline 9mms and .40s will have non-pivoting, single-action triggers that are just phenomenal. They are going to be a huge game changer. We’re also going to use an extremely simple hammer-fired design, and because this is a gun people will carry with themselves all the time, we’re going to add a thumb safety, and possibly even a grip safety. We think a safety on a carry gun is a good idea, and it will really give people some added piece of mind. Finally, to really kick up the accuracy potential we’re going to add a barrel bushing which is something we’ve never done before. It’s a little more work on our end, but when shooters see how things thing groups they are going to absolutely love it.

A safety on a Glock... NO!!!!!!!!!

Jessica: Wow! That’s so exciting. It sounds like you guys have a very busy year ahead!

Glock: We really do. 2014 is going to be the biggest year in our history, but there is one more piece of news I
haven’t told you about. Our branding campaign for the last advertising cycle has been “CONFIDENCE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE,” and it has really resonated with our customer base. So what’s the next step? How can we give our customers not just confidence to live their lives, but confidence to go further?

Jessica: I don’t know, how?

Glock; Starting in 2014 Glock pistols will give you CONFIDENCE TO LIVE SOMEONE ELSE’S LIFE. Think about it, wouldn’t you rather be George?

Jessica: Zimmerman?

Glock: That turd? Oh hell no. Clooney. Our market research suggests that every man (and many women) would switch places with Goerge Clooney if they could. We are going to have a full campaign around George Clooney’s lifestyle, complete with Glock-Clooney branded apparel, colognes, shooting accessories, and even a Glock 40 G.C. model with George Clooney-inspired features.

Jessica: Is that a .40 or the .22? And the G.C. stands for George Clooney?

Glock: The 40 is the .22, remember? And the G.C. stands for Glock Compact, obviously.

That's kind of dumb

Jessica: What else do you have planned?

Glock: The next model number on the list that we haven’t yet used is number 40. Imagine that, people say “Glock 40″ all the time, but we’ve never actually made a model number 40. It’s time to change that, and we have something exciting planned for next year. The Glock 40 will be a full-size pistol chambered in the popular .22LR cartridge.

Jessica: So the Glock 22 will be a .40 and the Glock 40 will be a .22?

Glock: Oh, I guess we didn’t think about that.

Jessica: That’s ok, I love .22s!

--------------

That could be great

I don't think I'll buy the 9 if it has a safety (or two) and bushing etc etc.

If it is basically the same old glock design and simplicity, I'll be over it.

No problem. Yea some of that link is just dumb, but at least they do say they are coming out with a 9/40 single stack. I hope it is the same ol Glock, but who knows. If they have a single stack .45 (G36) you would think it would be childs play for them to come out with a 9/40 single stack slim line.

I hope you guys aren't taking anything said in that link seriously, it is a satire piece... Even says so up in the left hand corner.

Yea that's what I was thinking. I've been waiting for Shot Show updates about the new Glocks, but haven't heard anything. Guess it's too good to be true. Looks like I'll be moving to a fullsize M&P 40 and a Shield40.

I went and held one today and I really liked it. I may give it a whirl when the price regulates to the standard glock $499 mark, till then I'll be toteing the shield. I liked the familiar size and feel, trigger is something I'm already used to and the fact that it comes with "real" replaceable sights.

Good grief, what are they charging? I thought it was supposed to have a MSRP of $399.
