Helluva Hunt holds an annual October hunting event in Wyoming for handicapped and chair-bound hunters. This event is totally funded, the only cost to the hunter and one guest is for their transportation to and from the Douglas, Wyoming area. All meat processing from the hunt is free and there are free mounts available as raffle prizes!

Applications for participation in the Helluva Hunt are accepted all year long. Fifteen hunters are chosen in February to participate in the October Antelope hunt that year. The accepted applicants are immediately notified and licenses are applied for. Each hunter receives at least two volunteers to assist in their kill at the event.

Just returned with my son who was selected to be 1 of the 13 total disabled/handicapped hunters from the 30th anniversary Hellavu Hunt in Douglas,WY. An amazing time that we will never forget. All 13 of them harvested bucks on Wednesday Oct 1st, opening day for section 29 rifle season.
If you are disabled or have a handicap please do yourself and apply for this hunt. You will not be dissapointed.

I am a 100% disabled from combat related PTSD, does that fit the requirement or is it physical handicaps?

i believe it's physical, not 100% sure though.

There are organizations that take Disabled Vets hunting, this hunt is set up to accommodate wheelchair hunters so I didnt apply, not too many set ups that are. Not telling you not to apply just my own decision. If you want I can pm you some of their websites

ETxsHunter, Look up a group called Banded Brigade Outdoors. They may be able to help you get out on a hunt.

I used to donate to organizations like this. Now that I am disabled with short bowel syndrome, I can't seem to find any help like this for me. Go figure...........
