Registered here because a google search pointed here concerning experiences at RCR in Seymour.

I searched the site and came away with mixed reviews.

I have yet to make a payment, but I have booked a pig hunt with them next month.

The wife and I are celebrating 35 years next month and she has been wanting to go on a pig hunt for a while. I figured I grant her wish as an anniversary present.

I would appreciate any experience or insight you might have.

I have never gone on a big game hunt with them but I have dove hunted with them several times. IMO, they do a good job and facilities and food are top notch.

I hunted dove with them for a number of years and always enjoyed myself. They usually had good hunting, were a friendly outfit, ran a very smooth operation, and put out one heck of a spread on the dining table.

As a follow-up ...

Wow ... what a weekend!

First of all, I was absolutely impressed with the accommodations, the food was unbelievable, guides were spot on and the place is spectacular and just 2 hours west of Ft. Worth.

3 nights lodging, 5 days of meals and all the pigs you can bag for $650 per person ... that's a pretty good deal for those of us without hunting access. We had complete access to the whole 6500 acres.

Plots are baited every day and they offered blinds, stands, chairs ... first night, we shot out of the truck!

First group would show about 20 minutes after the sun fell behind the trees. Take the shot. Wait about an hour and another group of 10-15 would show. Take the shot. Wait about an hour and another group would show and again and again ...

The wife and I were behind the truck sitting in lawn chairs about 8 pm and heard a group at a bait hole to our left. Green light never phased the sow and 6 or 8 60lb piglets. As the wife and I were lining up a shot, we heard a ruckus behind us. Swung around and there were 5 250lbers at a bait hole to the right.

All of our chatter, movement, lights, and resettling never bothered them.

Boom!

~120yds - 308 - ACOG - Barnes 165g TSX ... she dropped in her tracks. When dressing her, we found that she was pregnant. So I am counting 5 pigs with one shot!

Just an example ... each time we went to the field we saw large groups of shooters and mounts.
And I saw the first blue quail I've seen in years.

For a relaxing get-away, arrive and hunt, I highly recommend Ranger Creek Ranch.

Hello, came across this thread on google. I was wondering if anyone had any other experience with this place? Got a group from Ohio looking to book a five day turkey/hog combo with these guys.
