So I just purchased my first set of neoprene waders last week. I have a set already, but they're not insulated brrrrr. Anyways, I was searching the net just reading up on regular maintenance for them. After reading that properly drying them after a hunt will help them last longer, prevent mildew etc etc. I came to the assumption that I didn't want them to last just one season, or maybe two. So I looked into the option of purchasing a wader dryer. After learning that they can become quite expensive I decided that it shouldn't be that difficult to build my own. So here we go.

This is what I started out with. (just add two more T fittings)

Here's the end product. I also drilled about 30 holes in each pole to spread out the air. All I have to do is place a blow dryer in the opening in the center. Total cost was $20 give or take a dollar or two..........

Make sure you have that air drier on the coolest setting. I'm sure the air traveling through those tubes would cool anyway but having how air on waders over a long period would probably do more damage than if they are just wet. Not that you are doing this but it's also best to store them out of direct sunlight. Heat and sunlight break them down. I've never really heard leaving them web damages them other than smell.

Personally I just hang mine and they seem to dry just find.

I would think the exhaust gases would be so minor I can't see how it would matter....in addition I've never heard this. I have a closet off my garage that I store all my decoys, waders, etc in....I've never given it any thought.
