Any taxidermist have anything for sale? Do any of you get something a huntere didn't pay for or will not pay for and want to sell it?

I would like to get one or two for the hunting lodge. That's why I'm asking.

I am in Burleson and I have a wood duck on my office wall that . . . well, long story short is the kid who got it from a taxidermist because his wood duck got ruined does not want this mount. He did not shoot it. He may be willing to let it go. I will ask.

It's against the law to sell (wild) migratory birds. Look on Ebay you can usually find some that were pen raised and can be mounted and sold.

if anyone has one I have been looking for a flying muscovy duck to add to and complete the migration formation I currently have. I would like a black and white one with a full muscovy mullet if possible.

OK. Didnt know that. Never hunted them before. Thanks for tell me. I appreciate it.

So what can a taxidermist do if the guy doesn't pay for his mount? Give them away or throw them away? I know this happens with other stuff.

No...the law to which they are referring only applies to Migratory Birds including Dove, all species of Waterfowl and shore birds like Gallinues. In regards to the selling of Turkeys and Pheasants (upland birds) and their parts you have to refer to the state regs in which they were harvested as they vary.

Overheard at my last convention: "If you wanna make a million bucks in taxidermy, start out with 2 million and in 5 years, if you're lucky, you'll have a million left."

Absolutely, they're upland game birds.
