I've had good luck with it, if you don't have cows on property then go for it. Little late to start but I would give it a try if you jump on it ASAP. Turner Seed in Breckenridge, TX are really good people. Give them a call and it will be at your front door in 2 days. They are open from 7am-12pm Sat. Phone # 254-559-2065

A little late this yr.
Justin Seed Company in Justin, Texas, walk in and buy it, no shipping. They also have several varieties and several other seeds that birds like. Just remember it will need water or rain all season, especially during the hot summer months. Make sure you have a plan to keep moisture on the plants, or you might as well toss it on your driveway.
Don't forget fertilizer either.
I had one hole that I didn't even plant this yr since it had so much leftover seed, all I did was fertilize this yr.

It's like crack to them up there...
the thing about baiting is, even a rookie hunter could have a 170 bird season if they bait holes

It's never too late. You may not get good seed production but any vegetation will create the environment for invertebrates. Long after seed is gone in outmr millet, the ducks still go right to where it is. You can pull a handful up in jan and its full of bugs and protein is critical for ducks. Ivstart june 1 and I plant as late as oct 1 every year.

Mine is waist high already. Several rings of it as the ponds have drawn down.

Yeah I agree with david, we shot 4-5 different species over millet almost every time. Easy accessible food isn't going to get turned down by many migrating ducks. And it will grow in a hurry if in ideal conditions. This was 43 days after I planted it, the outter layer is a week behind and didn't get as much water. Even if it doesn't mature all the way it will most likely still make something and its pretty freeze resistant.
Thanks for all the positive THF support. Y'all are awesome.
