For a long time, I would have said I preferred to eat wild pig over deer. But, I've had a lot of pig the last 7 years, and not much venison, and now they are about equal. Chicken fry either one with cream gravy, and they are delicious. I've had an adult doe that I thought tasted like creosote smells, and a 6 year old buck that was just fine. Old sows and boars have eaten well, but have also had to feed parts of a little 80-pound boar to the dogs because it was so strong. For me, it comes down to the individual animal.

Deer quality is not measured by antler size

I like them about the same. Wild pork is a lot healthier than store bought pork. I'll get some beef suet and mix it with either and you would not know which one was deer sausage or pork sausage.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I usta feel the same way until I filled every freezer I could find, you can only store and give away so much... and sausage gets expensive real fast.

When you get to where you trap 6 or 8 a weekend and shoot a big one the same weekend. You get tired of cleaning them, get enough "trophys", and all the freezers are full.
You'll understand.
