I'll start.

I didn't kill a hog till I was 16. I shot the second one I ever saw, the 1st one was when I was 14 bowhunting, but he never came in.

I once killed 4 quail on a covey rise with my Dad's, Stevens 311, side by side 12 gauge. This was in Dallas county.

I married a vegetarian. Thanks to bacon though, she has been called to the dark side. I still can't get her to eat venison.

Bacon wrap a stuffed backstrap for her to try.

Nothing better! Bacon is the Gateway Meat. Problem is, it's not the taste. She can't get over the idea of eating Bambi. I snuck some in on her one time and she liked the taste. When I told her it was venison, she was P.O.ed! Daddy didn't get any lovin for awhile after that.

I never had a first deer. Never killing a deer, I took aim, dead square on the shoulder of a doe with a 30-30. Pull the trigger and she drops. Walk up and find two dead, hit one dead square in the head and the other in the shoulder. So I ended up with my first 2 deer.

I've never killed a yote, yet our place is covered in them I've just never had the opportunity. My brother kills about 7 or 8 a year when he's out there just messing around lol. i never see any unless they are hauling arse across our wheat field at a 1000 yards out.. Maybe I smell funny, even though I usually take the most, and biggest deer consistently every yr...who knows..

The second duck I ever killed (which was my 3rd shot ever at a duck) was a banded red head. The guy who I was hunting with (who had hunted duck for many years without a banded bird) was not too happy with me!! But I thought it was cool!

When I was kid, (12 yrs old) a preacher man friend from a church I used to play the drums in took me deer hunting. After we got to the lease, he told me that I couldn't shoot a deer or a turkey because he wasn't sure of the rules about hunter education. He said I could shoot a coyote or anything else that didn't need a tag? So there I was, hoping for my first deer all excited then sad crying . Out walked a doe 20 yrds from the blind & just stood there like she knew I couldn't shoot her. A little while later a covey of quail came to the feeder @ 100 yrds, I was hunting with a custom 22-250 shooting hollow points & he said the rifle was very accurate. I figured well, you don't need a tag for a quail & they're good to eat...if I can shoot his head off I'll have something to take back home to cook roflmao. So I squeezed one off @ 100 yrds & the quail I was shooting at exploded. rofl When he came to pick me up he was all excited & asked what I had shot, I'll never forget the look on his face when I told him "a quail". He said "at the feeder, no way. That's a long shot". So we walked over to the feeder & found a wing & a chunk of quail burger. clap He said, well I'll be. eek2

I've never killed a big white tail. I've hunted Michigan, Ohio, Colorado, New Mexico, South Texas, the panhandle and grew up hunting my entire life in Young, Archer, Stevens counties and have a house full of mounts of all kinds and never broke 120 on a whitetail.

My grandma taught me to skillet shoot quail with a 22. I was a teenager before I hunted quail with a shotgun, before that I shot them with a Stevens single shot 22, using shorts.

That was a limit with one shot though for me. Grandma was happy.

My resume would read:

Crazy pregnant lady loses fishing lure/cuts down tree and shoots snake's.

Kinda glad that chapter of my life is behind me.

Cept for the snake shootin.

When people say "what did you see" and I say nothing, they ask "what time did you wake up".......

I guess it's that "never miss an opportunity to take a nap" thing.
