I have a Winchester safe with a digital key pad on it. The battery was going dead on it so I replaced it, now it won't open. When you enter the code it acts like it recognizes it but its not unlocking and it's not giving any kind of series of beeps indicating something is wrong. I'm panicking here, has anybody else experienced this problem?

Make xure your handle is completely closed then try it. Mine did the same thing. If that doesnt work call thier customer service n ask for advice.

P.S. U may need to use yur man strength to turn the handle all the way.

O.K. Dumb question time, your sure you have the batteries in right + to +, - to -?

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

It's a Duracell, like they suggest. Its in there correctly the key pad is beeping when you enter the code it's just not giving a problem code after like it was when the battery was bad. I'm gonna try a different battery when I get back from the store in a bit.

Owned one with a digital key pad for years and never had a problem. By saying that I have probaly jinxed myself.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Buddy in Oklahoma had the same problem when he was setting his up. Thankfully he didn't put any of his guns in it yet. Not sure if he's gotten it fixed now or what.

I was told that an electrical issue will make the lock reset to the factory setting. Try that.

Have owned one digital lock out of four safes. I will never, mark my words, never, depend on a digital keypad again. The one I have is now completely disabled and I use it as nothing but a glorified cabinet to store ammunition only.

Its going to cost alot more than $50. I was locked out a few months ago with dead battery and it cost $270. $50 just got them to show up.

I tried another battery just to make sure, I called Winchester from work, they said to call them back when I get in front of the safe and the will try to trouble shoot it with me. I got my fingers crossed, but I'm doubtful.
