Hey everyone I am new on here and just wanted to share my first project rifle. As you can tell by the title of the post it is a Mosin Nagant M44, I got this rifle from my father almost a year ago. We had been talking back and forth on what I should do to this Mosin and truthfully what helped pull the trigger on this project was when Archangel announced that they will be releasing a stock with detachable mag. I have gone in polished the trigger engagement surfaces which feels as if has lowered the pull and made it a little crisper. Also I had my bolt handle turned down by Max Shepherd, who did an awesome job. I had an opportunity to shoot the rifle with the iron sights and got decent accuracy at 100 yards. I then bought the UTG Scout Mount and mounted a cheap NcStar LER Scope on it but have not had a chance to do some accuracy testing on it yet. I know have the ATI Scope Mount kit which I will be having installed soon as well as having the rear sight base, the front sight, AK74 style break, and the bayonet lug taken off then have the barrel cut down to about 18" threaded and I will attaching a AK birdcage flash suppressor. The Archangel stock ships next month cannot wait. I will post pictures after I get my camera back home from work. Keep posted.... Also I am up for any suggestions on my build. This was my first target at 100 yards with open sights. After I put on the UTG Scout Mount and Red-Dot Before the bolt-mod After bolt-mod

I want one of those Archangel stocks for my Mosins as well. I have a sweet 91/38 Czech carbine that would be awesome in the new stock!

Thank you. I know I threw shot 4 and 5 probably because of trigger pull, this was before I did anything to the rifle.

I want one of those Archangel stocks for my Mosins as well. I have a sweet 91/38 Czech carbine that would be awesome in the new stock! Those have gone up over the last couple of years. Hard to find one that is unaltered. Nice! Nice laminate stock on that M44.

Very cool. I hope I can find a few at a decent price. Centerfire Systems had some, and sold out in like an hour this morning.

Mosin update!!! Shortened barrel Birdcage that I got from the gunsmith...its threaded... Took her out to the 400 yard after a quick zero and got this. There was a 15mph CW full value from left to right

Nice setup! I've thought about doing the same but I bought a PU sniper instead. Optics aren't near as good as your cheapest Chinese glass, but they still shoot good! I've been pleasantly surprised with these "ugly" old rifles.
