I decided to build my own outdoor kitchen. I've got it all framed, pluming ran, gas line in, now its time for rock, counter tops, and some outdoor cookin! Ready for rock: I've bought the rock and all the kitchen equipment. The kitchen will have a Primo XL cooker on the lower flat space (left center), an AOG dual power burner (for cajun boils/stock pots), on the elevated flat section right of the primo area, a Swiss 36"/6 burner gas pit on the right side, and the rest is workspace/sink on the left. Just thought I'd share.

If work ever slows down & I have a life again, I'm gonna build me an outdoor kitchen. I have a 15' X 45' concrete slab in my back yard that used to be a huntin' dog kennel. I've been doing a lot of thinking about how I'm gonna do my outdoor kitchen but haven't had time to do squat. That lay out looks great! I'm jealous....

yes, please keep us updated with pictures. I have an old kennel area that might work well for something like this. Hard to tell from the one picture above, what are you framing & skinning with?

I can't wait to see the rest of this. i can only dream....
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

I am framing with 20 gauge galvanized 2 1/2" studs, typically used in commercial buildings and skinning it with 1/2" hardibacker.
Believe it or not, I've only got about $385 into the project at that point in the picture.
Its the kitchen equipment....holy moly. Doors and drawers are silly expensive.

Here's a pic of the gas pit: It's a swiss grill, 36" model with rotisserie and IR burner Here's a pic of the start of my rock work: I'm doing 100% of the work myself, so the rock is taking some time. It has been really fun learning and working as I go.

how hard is the rock work? Had you ever done it before or is this your first time? The rock work isn't too bad. I've never done it in my life, so at first I was slow. Now I'm starting to get the hang of it and its moving along. The dry stock method takes so much more time because of the how close you have to keep the stones. It's darn messy though.

I am seriously thinking of trying a project like this myself. Thanks for the write up.
