Lets see your hog traps guys. I'm going to start building some and could use as many ideas as possible. And if you don't mind, adding the price what you paid for them.

3 cattle panels! Homemade trap door that runs from a cable from the angle iron holding the door up out the top of the back of trap and back in the middle tied to a weight sitting on a bucket covering a post hole with the best bait! Bait out the entire trap to get a group in the first nosey one that wants in the hole and knocks the bucket over the weight falls pulling the angle iron out catching more than one everytime we have set it! Made a loading chute run them up in the trailer and to the buyer! Have caught a lot of pigs and made more money selling the pigs than it cost to build the door and buy the panels and t posts.

Here's the loading chute with a pull up guitine door.

And they run right up in the trailer!

Here's my only picture of the trap door to the left of the chute. It's just thrown together but has caught a lot of pigs!

I'm using tractor package frames (angle iron box frames) in which they ship tractors in to dealers.

One is 10' in length, 5' high and a little over 4' wide. They bolt together and all one needs it to weld the 4"x4" panels and either a guillotine door or swing door and your done except for triggering device. No wire for floor.

This is one we built works great. the bungee is in the wrong place I just put it there so the door would not be slamming when hauling it from place to place

i made a frameless and used a guillitine gate.

i also build one using 1 inch square tubing. swing door on one end and access door on the other.

i think a key selling point is using 4x4 mesh or smaller.

1st one I built is 16' long by hog panel high by 50" wide and 2" angle=$450
2nd is corral trap with four 50" panels and 50" lip around top edges..pic is before I finished it but will upload later=$350
3rd is made of left over C pearlin and angle from metal building and couple panels. No frame (heated and bent corners around each other)=$time
4th I made from free wood that use to be a set of stairs and free chain link from neighbor=$box of nails
5th I made from cutting top of my hog hauler off to put a flat roof instead of a round one. Worked out pretty well too just need to make trap bout a foot taller with a bottom=$6011 rods

I started one the other day and its a prototype. Im using 1 inch angle for the frame and 34 inch hog panels from TSC. I think they are 23 bucks a piece. I'll get some pics posted at some point but its 8' long, 4' wide and 35 inches tall. Once you weld the panels to the frame it stiffens up good. I've got about 160 bucks into it right now and just need to finish the door and trip mech. My welder crapped out, dang Harbor Freight junk wire welder, guess I get what I paid for tho. Wish I hadn't sold the stick welder now.

It's hard to go wrong with a Lil crackerbox stick welder..my dad built traps with it and now I am! smile on your TSC panels make sure you hog ring or heavy zip tie some 2x4 wire around the sides of trap. Last week I had 10 piglets get out while we were tryin to load the sow. She would push them up individually halfway up the sides to the bigger holes and push them out. I would use chicken wire but I don't want them gettin all cut up before I take em to sell. Sounds like a good trap you're workin on. What trip you gonna run?

I built this box trap last Fall and started using it last month (January). It's 8' deep, 4' wide and 3' high. First catch was these four small ~60Lb shoats. It uses two swing doors in a saloon door configuration. The feeder set up over it keeps it baited when I'm not around. The frame is constructed from bed rails, I had to purchase the mesh panels and door hinges. Since this photo was taken I've added some additional T-posts at the corners to hold it in place.
One problem is that we've caught deer a few times in it, and they're a pain to release. They go nuts, jumping and bouncing around inside the trap. I'm going to rig up a cord that will allow me to pull the doors open while I'm standing outside the trap.

I have two unwritten rules:
1.
2.
