Growing up we (Dad and I) had very few rifles. A 22-250 savage 99 and 25-06 Model 70 (about 1970) was it for centerfire. I have ventured far away from those rifles with all my reloading and ballistics calculators, but the 25-06 with 115 Bergers is one impressive rifle. I'm back to shooting a different 25-06 some and my son is getting experience on my other 22-250 a "youth" 788. Since I found the Bergers the 25-06 is one of my favorites again.

I have a Mod. 70 Super Grade (FN) in .270 Win. that I absolutely love. She's a shooter.

Beautiful rifle you got there.

After letting my son borrow my dream deer rifle last year to take a nice buck down in the Hill Country, I made a dream deer hunting trip to South TX and took my best buck in almost 35 years of hunting!

Can you give a mini-review on that vx6 2-12x42?

Did you get a custom dial on it?

The VX6 2 x 12 x 42 is a great scope. Really good in low light and the illuminated reticle "fire dot" allows you to shoot when it would be to dark to shoot without it. I had Leupold make a custom dial to my specs for Barnes TTSX 100 Grain Bullets in 25-06. I think it is a great scope and am glad I bought it. Hope this helps.

Very nice! I know the feeling on dream rifle. I just recently picked up a Sako 75 in Mint condition in 270Win. Took several years but finally have it and mounted a Zeiss on it. Thing is pretty and tack driver.

My son borrowed my rifle and killed a trophy buck this morning on the farm in East TX! He has been trying for almost 15 years to get a big buck in East TX. Proud of him for not giving up!
