I'm thinking about picking up a Digisight N550, and am wondering 2 things.
1. Does anybody have one, and if so do you like it?
2. Is manventure outpost good to go?

I've never ordered from them, but I'm just wondering.

For the money, I think they are about the best value going for a combination of good light amplification, clarity, and magnification. Zeroing is a bit weird, but once you figure it out, it is pretty nifty.

It is a bit bulky, but I have taken a few hogs with mine and am happy with it.

I will be renting and selling the N550 and N750 as soon as units are available. Pulsar says units will be here by March 2013. As with all of the scopes I rent, you can apply the rental fee towards purchase. The Digisights and digital NV technology looks to be the future of NV. I see the clarity and sensitivity of Digital NV being improved upon exponentially within the next few years. If you haven't made a decision by March, I can help you out. Until then, we wait.

I have the N550 in stock available for rent now. $100/weekend and you can apply that to purchase price if you decide you want to pick one up.

My father-in-law actually just bought the N550 this past weekend. We didn't get to do any hunting with it yet, but I got it mounted on his AR. We went down to his bottom and stood out in the hay meadow during the middle of the night. I was very impressed with the quality of the unit. My only complaint would be with the built in IR illuminator. It's decent quality and works fine...but it eats through batteries quickly & could be a little brighter. That's a simple fix though. The unit has a rail on the left side of it where you can mount a separate IR illuminator - that's what my FIL plans on doing. Overall, I'd say the quality is Gen 2 plus.

On the battery issue, Pulsar makes a 3 hour and a 20 hour battery pack. The 3 hour can mount on a rail, and the 20 hour is in a small pouch that goes on your belt or in a pocket.
