That was me. It was two goats in a blind. Hwy_Man had to pull out a dead goat from his blind. I had three eating out of my hand. I named them Moe, Larry and Curly. True story

Thanks - I don't understand the contempt some of these folks have for this place. If you choose, like i do, you can always take off on foot and chase these animals around. It's not an epic journey but with the eyeballs of 20 or so sheep, 15 or so Aoudad, Corsicans, and the couple of small deer watching you - and the moving around it takes to get an unobstructed shot while they move across the shale and through the scrb brush - it can actually be fun. "it's not hunting" Really? It's not an epic Hunt, but it's a mini - reasonably priced hunt for me. Is a 500yd shot on an elk hunting, or is it marksmanship? Are tree stands hunting, or just waiting for the C'Mere Deer to work?, Bow hunt a kudu over water from a clay shoot house, hunting? Yes. It's all hunting, get over it, respect each others choices, or the same jackwagons that snuck in and regulated Oryx will do it again, one species at a time. It's foolish not to understand that there really is an organized effort to stop all hunting, and their strategy is based on causing division among the ranks and betting that our arrogance will keep us from taking them seriously. Texas was actually growing the oryx population very successfully through hunting as a method of conservation. And everyone was surprised when the new regulations went into effect.

Here is a little newsflash for their next headline..."Even hunters agree, small scale sheep hunts are unethical! Lets outlaw these operations!" The prosecution would like to enter into evidence exibit-A trophy8 & friends.

I don't think anyone is attempting to stop anyone from hunting TT. Some have hunted the place and I like it. Some like myself have hunted the place and dislike it. To each their own. When you come on a public forum and give an opion there will also be others with varying thoughts. TT has to be doing something right. He is booked all the time. So apparently some people like it. I don't. It's not for me not even for 200 dollars. You like it so go forth and enjoy. Not everyone is going to have the same opion. Kinda like any other topic.

First off, 270+270=$540 NOT $900

And secondly, to all who say it's not a "hunt", is hunting at a deer feeder a hunt? When deer get acclimated to a feeder, they hear it like a dinner bell and come running.

I understand that not everyone has been satisfied with Thompson Temple's operation but to each their own and to anyone who is on the fence regarding Temple's, it is a cheap enough hunt where you can go and decide for yourself.

Pretty sure you said you were going again right? 270x3=810. Did you drive there? I'm guessing you didn't walk. So.....$900

They're here. Animal protection lunatics, looking for any angle to chip away at our hunting lifestyle.

I went a few years ago. Any merino there was $190 then. I guess he went up a little. I had a great time. I didnt stay there at the ranch. I stayed in town at a hotel. I took my bow and wound up shooting a Tx Dall. The only reason that I shot it was because some kid (who was there when i was there) was shooting at these sheep with his bow. He wounded 7 or 8 of them. This Dall that I shot was young, little and had a hole in his face. I honestly dont know how it was still alive. I took care of it and paid my $. the kid asked if he could have the head. I told him no and offered to give him the meat.

It was too easy. I even went up on the hill by myself and walk that entire back range. I walked right up to several sheep there too. Just not my cup of tea. I want a challenge. I am not knocking it at all. TT is a great guy and has to be making a lot of money. I would never pay to go back but I will never knock anyone who does.

I drove from Cheyenne, WY to hunt goats at Thompson's place. He was absolutely accomodating and I got the huge ram that I named Sir Nutz B Draggin. You might have seen him before. His sack actually drug the ground. He was a record book exotic with 19 inch bases and 31 inch curls. All for 170 bucks. Not going back this year as I'm headed to Montana for a buffalo. Temple's ranch is a lot of fun and very economical.

confused2 I was in Kerrville last spring and called Thompson Temple personally. I was interested in his bighorn hybrid. He returned my call and said they would be counting them in September and deciding what would be up for harvest. In August, September and October I sent an email reminder" I was still interested". Never heard another word. popcorn

A few weeks ago I went to Rocksprings. We passed a place before you get there that I assumed was his. There was not a blade of grass and the brose line on the trees was quite high. Is this the place the hunts take place? If it is he has gone way down hill from when he first came to the Ingram area back in the 80's.

I've heard a few stories about his hunts and how he will put a top record book animal in a very small pasture for somebody to shoot so they can claim that spot in the book. Of course, I hear that about most of the top book animals that are shot behind high fence. Five acre pasture with one animal in it and a crazy price tag. I'm not against this, it's a money maker for the land owner and the breeder. I was offered the number one red stag while in New Zealand for $350,000 and that it had to happen soon because it was tearing up it's pen. I don't have anything close to that kind of money, but thought it was interesting that it was so common.

I am curious about Thompson Temple's Urial's. I've read on here that he has some pure blood animals, and looking at his website, he is offering live sale animals for a fair price.

The property that he lives on and conducts the ram hunts on is in a bowl so seeing it would be impossible from the road.
I have heard all kinds of estimates on the size of that property with the largest being 2 sections with an 80 acre pen in the middle.
Most estimates put it at about half that size.
Anyone have any solid info on size?

Some where in the 680 acre range.... However it hunts big due to the vertical slopes

High fence killing is not hunting!! In Texas you put an animal behind a fence ring the dinner/ feeder bell and call it hunting?

5 acres, but it hunts more like 2 sections. Hope this helps

Yes sir... North American species food Some exotics like aoudad you have to work at it. But so far Moose, Caribou, Eland, Impala, most african plains game or exotics such as Axis, Blackbuck, oryx make my #1 list. But just like a fine wine opinion's vary.

How about you?
