This is going up for auction at the Central Texas DU banquet tonight.

I have a display card that sits with it that says:

South Bay Blue

This piece is a combination base and gunning decoy both hand carved by Dave Speer. The decoy can be hunted or displayed on its base. The name comes from the fishing and gunning flats of the Coastal Bend of Texas.

Go ahead and pick up the decoy, it's not attached to the base.

For more information about the carving, contact Dave via email at xxx@xxx.xxx or by cell phone: xxx-xxx-xxxx. Dave is in attendance at the show tonight.

Very nice Dave

Well thank you for your hard work and for donating it to the cause. I regret that I was unable to be there tonight.

Browning Maxus 75th DU Gun of the Year went for $3700. My buddy Derek's last bid was $3600.

That was one very sweet gun. The auction sort of got off to a slow start and stalled around the $1700 mark, and then I think I blinked and it was up over 3k in a HURRY!

Ronnie Wells was the artist. He does a lot of DU stuff...he has a studio in Salado so I'm assuming he lives around there.
