I have mentioned it on a couple of threads, but think you have to see some of the damage to really appreciate it. This weekend, we dumped the rain guage on Friday at 4", found it overflowing at 5.5" Saturday morning and dumped it again only to find it overflowing at 5.5" four hours later. Not sure the exact amount that we had over night, but it was continous throughout the night. Wish I had some before and after pics: This series of pics is behind one of the ponds. There is a draw that runs into the South end of the tank. These were taken in the draw that runs behind the damn between the pond and a spreader damn. This picture is one of the tanks that overflowed. If you look, you can see where the fence is going into the water...there is a road on both sides of the fence that is typically passable in a truck

These next series of pics are of one the pastures. This pasture is basically grass land with a small ravine through the middle. There are (or were) multiple spreader dams in the ravine. This area typically does not hold any water.

This pond has a pump in it and is used to feed many of the troughs and other tanks when needed. It was almost dry on Thursday morning.

Texas weather you gotta love. Is that going to Ivie or coming to Mills County and down stream to Buchanan? That water would be heading to Ivie by way of the Concho River. This is a pic of it further upstream. This area was dang near dry on Thursday also. Think Dogcatcher posted that as of 10AM, the lake has come up 12'. Some might recognize the house on the hill...

That is great. The last pic is about 1/2 mile from my parents place. The country sure needed the rain. That will sure help the lake out. Yea before the rain hit you could walk across the concho river and not get your feet wet.

I am sure everyone was more than glad to give up a weekend of hunting for this much needed West Texas rain. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Water is a powerful part of mother nature. Long term its great for the lakes and the area. A royal pain, short term

man thats allot of water... what was the final rainfall total We really aren't sure because the gauge only went to 5.5" and it was overflowing each time we found it. Dumped it twice and had 4" the day before, so we know 15". Best guess is around 18-20.
