You may not know it, but your a cruel man. I normally kayak or canoe somewhere at least once a week during the summer. With the open flesh eating disease thing I had I have not been able to be on or in the water in almost three months now and still can't.

Disease complications and two months with zero activity has me beat me down with muscle loss and I NEED to get back to work. I drove up to the red yesterday morning to take a long hike along the river with the dogs for some serious rehab and heat acclimation. Dogs had fun, but it just about killed me. All I could think about the whole time was wishing I was on the river in one of my boats leasurely paddling and falling in to cool off now and then.

I will dig some pictures up here in a bit. So any progress with a pirogue hopedale?

Have a spot from the skin graft that is taking a long time to heal. And a problem caused by all the IV antibiotics wiping out my good bacteria that went too long and had me low sick. almost put me back in the hospital, but I think I have it beat. I am trying to go back to work in one to two weeks.

Hopefully you will have no more issues, still think it was a miracle to get it stopped in time.

Then there is the decked pirogue. I really would like to do more hunting out of this one this season. I do have a grass cover and an OD camo net cover, but so far I have jsut camoed it with whatever is on the lakeshore.

This was a boat given to me that I restored for my purpose. Apparently it is not one of a kind. See the picture at duckboats.net. http://duckboats.net.nmsrv.com/specs/images/unknown12.jpg
If anyone knows more about it, maker?, kit boat?, I would live to know.

Yep. There were several turns of events in that 19 hours between injury and surgery that if any one of them had been different I was told I either would not have a leg or would not be alive today.

Get well John.
