About the only one listed I patronize is Outback. I knew a youngster who waited tables there and he liked it and said they were good to him.

That hilarious. I worked at the OG two summers (maybe made it 2 months each time) and that was the worst job ever. Worst tippers ever. I quit both times. I rather be fishing and broke than that. One of my co-workers killed her boyfriend while I was there. I changed my major quickly to ensure I would never be doing that again.

What's your definition of making "real money"? Servers at some of the better restaurants in DFW can make 75-100k.

Real money can be made playing for the NFL but I wouldn't recommend counting on it as a career path.
