I finally got my hands on a CZ-82 and I want to start reloading. Only problem is the brass is EXPENSIVE. I have seen a few places with brass cased ammo for about $13 a box but they are sold out. Anyone know a place that has ammo in stock for cheap?

Any of the big retailers should have it but you're gonna have to pay shipping. I know Cheaper Than Dirt keeps it in stock.

Ya, I don't order from cheaperthandirt. $14 shipping is ridiculous. I have often wanted to make an order there and I can't stand the fact that they charge so much for shipping. It's also cheaper to buy when the company is out of state. No sales tax.

Yep- I bought some .223 from J&G sales and shipping was $17. It's just a fact of life though- shipping ain't cheap and ammo is heavy in large quantities.

Here you go: http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/category/categoryId/37?

Graf & Sons has a good selection and reasonable shipping.

Bob

I roll my own for my Bulgarian Mak.

That's a nice looking Makarov Bob. Where and how much? I don't know why but I am really intrigued by the Makarov. Something about that round...

If you want to reload, you can also trim down and resize plain old 9x19 (para\luger) brass which is dirt cheap or free at most ranges. I've got a couple hundred rounds that I trimmed down and they work like a champ.

Yes, trim 1mm of length off 9x19 (9mm Lugar) brass then load and fireform. Quite simple.

Maks love inexpensive cast lead bullets also.

What do you use to trim?

Try AUCTIONARMS or GUNBROKER.
I buy ammo from a guy in California that lists on AUCTIONARMS. Occasionally he has Makarov ammo.

Ryan-It is a milsurp Bulgarian Makarov. I added custom combat sights and had it dehorned and refinished. It shoots great. Unfortunately they have gotten harder to find and the prices have really shot up.

As far as brass, I sure would not waste my time trimming 9mm brass to size. Just buy the Mak brass and load it.

Before dehorning and refinishing.

That's awesome Bob. I don't know why but I really like this round. I may end up with a few different Maks myself.

ACADEMY USUALLY CARRIES 9MM Makarov; I got some there last fall.

I've got a true Russian MAK, with a goatskin holster, with one extra clip, and the little screwdriver thing! Had it for about 15 years now, shoots very loud, and the bullet pretty much goes where it wants to! LOL!
