Black Gap is a cool place. I hunted there 2 years ago. Very rough country.

That wasn't so much just a hunting trip, rather a true adventure! Beautiful country and great story - I'm so envious.

Great pics, can you hunt with things other than a shotgun? This looks like a blast.

Too Cool. Great hunt, love that country.

As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind...Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks--Thomas Jefferson

Been there --Love it---Be careful though last time I was there I talked to a WMA ranger-La Linda was being used by drug runners and they were packing across the river in the back country with pack mules, don't know if they're still doing that but it is desolate lonely country.

You really should submit that story and those pics to a magazine like Texas Sporting Journal. Who knows, it might pay for your trip.
Awesome photography and excellent story. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome pictures and story. We went to Black Gap back in 2000 on a (TPWD draw) mule deer archery hunt.

My wife loves to read any post about blaze. We had to give our vizsla away, so everytime I see a post you make I show her. makes her cry every time, kinda sad, but makes sure we never forget our favorite dog. damn work....some day i'll own the best breed in the world again after i'm satisfied with the bank account.

It took me a couple of years to realize why you made three post to start this thread. You can only get 10 pictures to each post. I had to remind a new member of that a couple of weeks ago.

Did you run into Fred? He lives in a little travel trailer on a hill overlooking the bridge at La Linda. You were about 20 steps awasy from some awesome 'mocajetes' in the rocks where you took the bridge picture. I know of some great places to look for arrowheads on the Gap. We go every year at this time and we're not going to go this year so thanks for the pics.
